DIY status update
DIY version is in progress, but delayed for now :(
Ouch - sorry, time got me by surprise. The DIY path is not abandoned, but it is currently delayed so I can deliver it properly instead of shipping a half-baked experience.
Why the delay
SnapTouch is a one-person project, and each week is split across development, CAD design, website work, MakerWorld work, ecommerce setup, shipping setup and testing. That stack is bigger than it looks from the outside, and I have hit the limit on how fast I can do all of it without quality dropping.
Right now most engineering effort is going into evolving the Pro version. It has moved ahead quickly, while the DIY paths need another pass so they are stable, clear, and well documented. I do not want DIY users to receive an underdeveloped release.
The delay is a support and user-experience decision as much as a build decision: I want to give accurate docs and real help when people start building, instead of rushing and creating confusion. I also want to provide the same level of experience, regardless of whether you paid or not.
