Ready-made Basic or Pro units ship assembled, tested, and programmed. Prefer the bench? Scroll for a transparent BOM and roll your own DIY build.

Why order assembled

Built for people who'd rather use the printer than debug one

DIY is the budget path if you already solder, flash firmware, and like hunting down the right cable. If that sounds like a weekend you don't have, Basic and Pro are the shortcut: hardware that shows up finished, checked, and ready to connect to your stack.

What Basic/Pro saves you from

  • Soldering headers or wiring where the build calls for it—not everyone's favourite evening
  • Mechanical fit-up: heated inserts, screws, tape, and getting the case square without stress cracks
  • Firmware flash, first boot, and chasing the one wrong cable that only charges but doesn't sync data
  • Your time on assembly, testing, and reprints when something doesn't sit flush

SnapTouch Basic: handheld showing dryer monitor with temperature and humidity

This is a one-person build and SnapTouch is still evolving—please expect first orders to take about one to three weeks to ship. The project is beta and hobbyist-grade, but there is a roadmap of upgrades and improvements ahead. Some early units may ship on slightly different firmware builds; I will stay in close contact so you can move to the latest beta release when it makes sense for your unit.

*Assumes you print at home; outsourced printing adds cost. †Range spans cheaper vs pricier display/cable picks, adds insert / tape / screw pack shelf prices (one purchase usually covers many builds), and includes optional wood screws on the high end. Your true per-build cash cost drops once those packs are on the shelf.
